A Study on the Effects of Group Art Therapy Program on Improving Welfare-Facility Children's Problematic Behavior and Adaptation to School

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to inspect whether a group art therapy program is effective in improving welfare-facility children's problematic behavior and adaptation to school. For this purpose, this study divided subjects into experimental group and controlling group's experiment plan, and the research objects are formed into 10 experimental group and 10 controlling group, total 20 facilities children who are 5 to 6 graders. We applied to them Korean-Youth Self Report and prior research about adapting school life, and then enforced post research after offering Group Art Therapy Program for 6 months to experimental group. Group Art Therapy Program has proceeded once a week for an hour and a half, total 24 times and each time we have observed with social worker and art curing research assistant. The data have been demonstrated by the program's effect analyzing that contains their changes through enforcing t-test about facilities children's problem behavior and adapting life before and after enforcing Group Art Therapy Program. As a result, welfare-facility children's problematic action as well as adaptation to school, was improving effectively through Group Art Therapy Program.
